Jim Meyer

Chief Executive Officer

Jim has been the owner and CEO of Neesvig’s since 1988. After working at Oscar Mayer for 15 years as Finance Manager, Jim left the company and purchased Neesvig’s. Although he has delegated many of his CEO duties to the management team, Jim’s responsibilities include overseeing the direction of the company, acting as a figurehead, working with banks, and dealing with other professionals and services. The company broke new ground under his leadership by partnering with national chains, allowing Neesvig’s to grow exponentially. Keeping the legacy of the company is important to Jim and he emphasizes the importance of being fair and always treating people properly.

Matt Meyer

General Manager

Matt’s contributions include helping to oversee certain parts of the business including, quality control, new product development, and sales activities. With the new management team firmly in place, his day to day responsibilities are few but he enjoys being able to provide some experience and guidance to the team when he can. His main responsibility now is to continue to give the team the necessary support and resources to continue to grow the business in a way that we are proud of.

Paul Werwinski

Vice President of Mail Order & Fulfillment

Paul has been with Neesvig’s for 16 years. He began his career at Neesvig’s in Food Service Production Operations. In 2001 he moved into the leadership role of our Mail Order/ Fulfillment department with responsibility over all aspects of operations including the development of production/logistics strategies along with new customer acquisition to meet the company’s financial goals. During his tenure, Paul has helped the department grow to support over 100 companies of all size ranges. He has a passion for great customer relations and support to each client by focusing the department on our goal to treat every customer’s business as an extension of our own. Today Paul continues to lead as Vice President of Neesvig’s Fulfillment but also has an active role in developing and supporting the goals and initiatives of the entire organization.

Valerie Walter

Operations Manager – Fulfillment

Valerie has been working with Neesvig’s Food Service for 5 years. Her initial position was in customer service but since has risen to the position of Operations Manager where she manages an average staff of 30 people year round with a seasonal increase of 65 or more. Valerie manages everything for the setup and additional processing of the new customers that Paul Werwinski, VP of Fulfillment, brings in. Valerie also oversees the processing and completion of all Fulfillment orders. In fact, this year we will ship over 300,000 orders to the end consumer! She also oversees product ordering and the new implementation of the order processing program. Valerie has met her goal of keeping up with the rapidly increasing fulfillment current and new customers. She envisions that Neesvig’s will have a million plus orders annually in the near future.

Dan Ryan

Chief Operating Officer

As our Chief Operating Officer, Dan oversees all sales, production, procurement and distribution activities for our Food Service business at Neesvig’s and Empire Fish.  As a part of this responsibility, he is involved in all elements of our day to day operations, but also takes a very active role in long term strategic planning and new business development.  Additionally, Dan oversees our retail activities at Empire Fish, the sales and production elements of our e-commerce business, production for some of our Fulfillment customers and other projects throughout the entire organization. He believes firmly that the unique combination of our people, our products and our philosophy allows us to be a true partner with customers of all types.  Dan has been in his current position since 2012 and has been with Empire Fish and Neesvig’s since 2005.

Jeffrey D. Bauer

Vice President, Controller

Jeffrey joined Neesvig’s in June 1980. His current responsibilities are overseeing all aspects of the accounting area. This includes accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, general ledger, cash reconciliation, cost accounting, yield tests as well as various weekly, monthly, and annual reporting for all of our companies.

Bryan Ellefson


Bryan Ellefson joined Neesvig’s in 2013 as Operations Manager after a 10 year career as a manufacturer’s representative in the boating industry. A self-confessed food nerd, Bryan brings a passion for great food and a sales background to our back of the house operation. In addition to overseeing our Production, Packaging, Sanitation, Shipping, Receiving, and Logistics departments, he is also involved in inventory control, marketing initiatives, ERP training, and sales training.

Andrew Byrne

Director of Food Service Sales

Andrew began at Empire Fish in 2002 as a Sales Representative. He worked in territories covering most of the state and handled some chain accounts throughout the Midwest. Andrew became Sales Manager of Empire Fish in 2008. He held that job until 2013 when he transitioned into the Director of Food Service Sales for the entire organization. Andrew has spent time in each of the departments at Empire Fish from purchasing to operations to sales.

Alvaro Barros

Director of Marketing

Alvaro was hired by Neesvig’s Inc. in the summer of 2014 to oversee and implement all marketing related aspects of new and established business ventures. Alvaro brings over 20 years of hands on experience in various aspects of marketing related duties including, but not limited to, various aspects of printed materials, website design & development, digital marketing, trade shows & events, and various new media applications.

Matt Freisleben

Purchasing / Operations

Matt has worked at Empire Fish/Neesvig’s for over 10 years in various roles primarily in purchasing and warehousing.  As Operations Manager of Empire Fish, Matt oversees all day-to-day activities of the facility.  He is also involved in the overall distribution strategy of our entire food service organization.  His goal is to offer excellent sales support to ensure our customers are offered the service and quality they expect.

Lee Fritz

Vice President of Procurement and National Sales

Lee has been with Neesvig’s since 1970. During the last 44 years he has gone from working in shipping and receiving and as a meat cutter trainee to becoming Vice President of Procurement and National Sales. He is in charge of purchasing raw material and selling major accounts. Lee predicts that Neesvig’s will continue growing and become the leaders in the industry with quality products.

Kevin Conrady


Kevin joined Empire Fish in 2008 where he played an integral role in the design of the retail store remodel. With over 35 years of experience in specialty foods and foodservice, Kevin is an important advisor in the day to day operations at Empire Fish. Along with his responsibilities at Empire Fish, Kevin is also highly involved in Neesvig’s “Cooler Sales”, a popular event that began back in the 1970’s.
